Banana Beach: Gastronomic Feast at Tagum City

Do you want to satisfy your palate and enjoy recreation and relaxation at the same time? Visit Banana Beach in Tagum City and experience the perfect combination of food and fun. This post will be dedicated to the FOOD part.  Read my FUN post about Banana Beach here.

Grilled Tuna Belly

The grilled tuna belly was cooked just right. The meat was not overcooked, it was tender, juicy, and lightly seasoned. It came with some slices of singkamas (turnip) and a soy sauce dip. One serving is good for 2 persons.

Grilled Pork Chop

The pork chop was perfectly grilled and tender to the bite, but don't forget to cut the meat with the knife. This is a generous serving good for one. The grilled pork chop came with ensaladang talong (eggplant) as a side dish.

Dilis and Garlic

The  fried dilis was topped with garlic chips. I like garlic chips (I remember those garlic chips from Baguio) and pairing them with the dilis was something new for me. It was a perfect match. The dilis came with a thick sweet dip sprinkled with sesame seeds. I found this dip better paired with the grilled pork chop.

Lunch is served:

We concluded our lunch with ube halaya a la mode. Isn't this a great twist to the native ube halaya?

We paid P1,500 day tour package for two persons at Banana Beach and the amount is consumable for the food and activities. Aside from the lunch and three rounds of drinks that we had, we also availed of river kayaking and swimming which you can read about here.

  1. Tender pork chop (nothing like a rubbery pork chop to ruin an appetite!) and tuna belly (also delish when not overcooked), plus a reinvented ube halaya dessert...that's just perfect!

  18. Since I love pampabata dishes, the grilled pork chop / liempo got my attention right away! The tuna looks good too tho. It's nice that the food that's included in the package is good, most often than not it's the opposite :(
