Ever since I watched the movie Rio (that movie about Macaw birds), I've always wanted to go to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and have a vacation there. I was so jealous when beau went to Rio for his work assignment. Below, you can see his photos taken at Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro. Notice the black and white Portuguese pavement wave patterns in the background. Rio's beaches have their distinct abstract patterns.
One of the beaches in Rio de Janeiro is Ipanema, which was made popular by an old song, The Girl from Ipanema. Actually, I knew of Ipanema not as a beach but as a brand of slippers and footwear from Brazil. I haven't been out of the country so it would be impossible for me to reach Rio de Janeiro. But just recently, I had my own taste of Rio de Janeiro when Ipanema brought the Urban Jungle Fashion Show here in Davao City.

I went home with lots of goodies that night, including an Ipanema towel. It would be perfect for my beach outings! I also got two pairs of Ipanema slippers with the famous abstract black and white prints patterned from the pavement of Ipanema Beach.
Also, I got this travel diary which showcases not just Ipanema slippers but the hotels, bars, even the famous food and drinks in Ipanema. This will be my travel inspiration book and I hope that someday, I can actually be able to roam on Ipanema's beaches and take a dip on its blue waters.
