I was on vacation last week and my feet brought me to Delta Discovery Park in Bonbon, Butuan City. Delta Discovery Park houses the longest zipline in Asia as of this writing. The zipline is 1.3 kilometers long and it took me about 1 minute and 30 seconds to traverse it. Delta Discovery Park opened last May 8, 2011.
It's not my first time to ride the zip line but it certainly was a new experience to be suspended on air for more than 1 minute. Also, the zip line would traverse part of the mountain which was scraped to make way for a road. That was the most interesting part of the ride (watch at 0:50 on the video).
To reach Delta Discovery Park, a 4x4 jeep would fetch you from the lower part of Bonbon and this jeep would bring you to an exciting ride up above the mountain. Some say that the jeep ride is an adventure in itself, it truly is!

ReplyDeleteHeight and speed is not my kind of adventure but I would love to try the zipline one day.
ReplyDeleteI really wouldn't know if I can summon enough courage for the zipline but it seems a very exciting activity.
ReplyDeleteJust my kind of adventure!! Pangarap ko talagang masubukang mag-zipline.. Masarap daw talaga ang feeling at super mag e-enjoy daw.. =)
ReplyDeleteI guess I am sissy when it comes to extreme sport like that because I haven't tried Zipline. We have a Zipline in Davao but never ever had the guts to try it. I was looking at the Rates and I am surprise there's an ATV ride there already:) I have one myself and that I don't chicken out riding it.

Wow, I haven't been to that place and my ancestral roots have families there in Butuan. My dad was from Surigao del Norte but the other side of our family hails form Butuan. It's so nice to know that our country offers amazing adventurous activities to the on-the-go people. I would love to visit the place one day when we settle in the Philippines for good. That way, we have so much time to explore our very own. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! hindi ka natakot.. Parang hindi naman pala high-speed ang travel. LOL Next time na umuwi ako ng Loloan, sure na pupunta ako riyan.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds and looks so fun talaga! I wanna do it but my husband and daughters won't want me to. LOL. I shall see the next time we can go home. There's one in Bukidnon that's also a great place to hit!
