Tsuru Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar

Let's learn about maki. A maki is a form of sushi. Sushi is a popular Japanese food which is composed of cooked rice with vinegar, and then combined with seafood, usually raw fish. Maki is a form of rolled sushi, so it's not uncommon to hear rolls referring to maki. Source.

There are a lot of maki varieties available on the whole planet and I might be wrong but I think that the most popular of them all is the California Maki. California Maki is actually my favorite maki, little did I know that everyone can make their own maki version. Let me introduce to you 4 maki versions from the oldest Japanese restaurant in Davao City, Tsuru Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar.

Crazy Maki
Crazy Maki is basically kani stick tossed in Japanese Mayo and rolled over crunchy tempura bits and again topped with shreds of kani. Kani means crab meat. Crazy Maki is available at Tsuru for only P185.00.

Volcano Maki
A fiery roll of salmon, spring onions, spicy oil, and mayo, fried to perfection, Volcano Roll is served with two of Tsuru's special sauces. It's oozing with flavor and can serve 2 to 3 persons for only P250.

Godzilla Roll
You can now eat the king of monsters in Tsuru's Godzilla Roll. It is composed of ebi tempura with lettuce topped with tuna, salmon, mango, avocado, and finished with Tsuru's special sauces. I will have to say that this seems like an upgrade of the good old California Maki that everyone loves. You've got to try this, it's only P295.

Tsuru Roll
Tsuru Roll is composed of salmon, kani, and cream cheese fried to a golden crip then topped with tempura bits and teriyaki sauce. This has got to be my new favorite! I have always loved cream cheese on pastries and desserts and incorporating this ingredient to a Maki is just unbelievable! Tsuru Roll costs P250.
